Role Description
The Civil Engineering Foreman is a full-time, on-site role based in the London Area, United Kingdom. This role oversees daily site operations, coordinates civil engineering works, and ensures tasks are completed safely, on schedule, and to specification. The foreman will manage and direct site crews, allocate labor and resources, and monitor progress against project plans.

- Reading and interpreting drawings,
- Liaising with site managers, engineers, and subcontractors,
- Maintaining clear communication with the project team.
The foreman will implement health and safety procedures, conduct site inspections, report issues, and support quality control for all civil works.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in civil engineering or construction site supervision, preferably as a foreman on infrastructure or groundworks projects.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering construction methods, materials, and site practices, including earthworks, drainage, foundations, and structural works.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, coordinate trades, and organize daily site activities to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
- Solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations, with a track record of promoting safe working practices on-site.
- Competence in reading technical drawings, specifications, and method statements, and communicating requirements clearly to site personnel.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients.
- Basic IT skills and familiarity with construction reporting, site record-keeping, and use of mobile or digital tools for documentation.
- Relevant vocational or technical qualifications in construction or civil engineering; an NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent certification is an advantage.
- CSCS card or equivalent site safety accreditation; additional site management or safety training (e.g., SMSTS, SSSTS) is desirable.
- Ability to work on-site in varying weather conditions, maintain reliability and punctuality, and adapt to changing project needs.
