About The Role
The Civil Engineering Technician position in Cardiff is a permanent role with RGB, offering a salary between £30,000 and £45,000 per annum. Civil CAD / BIM Technician (Civil 3D) – Cardiff
We are partnering with a well-established medium-to-large engineering consultancy that is continuing to grow its Civil Engineering team in Cardiff. The Role
As a Civil CAD / BIM Technician, you will play a key role in the production and coordination of high-quality civil engineering drawings and models, supporting the successful delivery of projects from concept through to construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce Civil 3D models, drawings, and technical details for below-ground drainage, external works, and level designs.
- Work closely with Civil Engineers and multidisciplinary in-house teams to deliver coordinated design information.
- Support design coordination with external architects, MEP consultants, and contractors.
- Follow established BIM standards, workflows, and project protocols to ensure consistency and quality across project deliverables.
- Prepare general arrangement drawings, sections, details, and schedules for a variety of building projects.

About You
- Ideally 5+ years’ experience in a similar Civil CAD, BIM, or Technician role.
- Proficient in Civil 3D and experienced in producing civil engineering drawings and models.
- Strong understanding of drainage, external works, and infrastructure design packages.
- Comfortable working within multidisciplinary project teams and coordinating with external stakeholders.
- Based locally to Cardiff or within a commutable distance.
