Litigation Solicitor / FCILEx

Salary: Up to £60,000 DOE
Location: Leeds, Bristol or Cardiff
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
Working Pattern: Hybrid or Fully Remote

The Opportunity

A leading national law firm is looking to recruit a Contract & Commercial Litigation Solicitor, FCILEx to join its established Civil Litigation team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience handling their own litigation caseload who is looking to work on a varied range of contractual and commercial disputes, with exposure to both claimant and defendant matters.

The team handles a mixture of Legal Expenses Insurance and privately funded work, including complex and high-value commercial instructions.

The Role

You will manage your own caseload of mainly Fast, Intermediate and Multi-Track litigation matters, dealing with a variety of contractual disputes including:

  • Commercial and consumer contract disputes
  • Misrepresentation claims
  • Professional negligence
  • Construction disputes
  • Disputes arising from the sale of goods and services
  • Building contract disputes
  • Other contractual and commercial litigation

You will act for both Claimants and Defendants, giving you the opportunity to develop a broad and varied litigation practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing your own caseload from instruction through to resolution
  • Handling Fast, Intermediate and Multi-Track claims
  • Advising individual and commercial clients
  • Dealing with clients by telephone and face-to-face
  • Progressing matters using the firm's case management system
  • Billing and invoicing
  • Working to tight deadlines and managing competing priorities

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience handling their own caseload of contract or commercial disputes
  • Experience with Fast and Multi-Track litigation
  • Strong legal knowledge and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organisation and time-management skills
  • A pragmatic and client-focused approach
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Experience using a case management system

Experience of working with Legal Expenses Insurance-funded clients would be advantageous but is not essential.
