A Little More About Your Role…

WSP is seeking an experienced Maritime Civil Discipline Lead to join our Ports & Maritime team at Associate Director level.

This is a unique opportunity to play a leading role in shaping the future of maritime civil engineering within one of the world's leading professional services firms.

You will lead the growth and development of our maritime civil engineering capability, supporting complex and strategically important port, terminal and maritime infrastructure projects across the UK, Ireland and internationally.

Working alongside a multidisciplinary team of planners, engineers, project managers and technical specialists, you will provide technical leadership, support project delivery, develop people, strengthen quality and help grow our presence within the ports and maritime sector. The role combines technical authority, people leadership, project delivery and business development. It offers the opportunity to influence major infrastructure investments while helping develop the next generation of maritime engineers.

Key Responsibilities…

  • Lead and grow WSP's maritime civil engineering capability.

  • Guide technical quality and promote best practice across civil engineering activities.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions for our clients.
  • Engage with clients to understand their challenges and help shape successful project outcomes.
  • Contribute to business development, proposals and strategic pursuits across the ports and maritime sector.
  • Promote innovation, digital delivery, sustainability and low-carbon design solutions.
  • Support safe, efficient and commercially successful project delivery.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
