Package Manager / Site Agent

Location: East London
Contract: Permanent
Working Pattern: Site Based

Our client is a leading civil engineering contractor delivering one of the UK's flagship infrastructure projects in East London. As work continues to progress on this major scheme, they are looking to appoint an experienced Site Agent with a strong background in heavy civils to play a key role in the successful delivery of a complex, high-value project. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor with a strong reputation for delivering major infrastructure schemes across the UK, offering long-term career progression and the chance to work on a landmark project.

The Role

As Site Agent, you will take responsibility for the safe, efficient and successful delivery of sections of works, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards. Working closely with Project Managers, Engineers, commercial teams and site operatives, you will oversee day-to-day site operations while maintaining a strong focus on health, safety and programme delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day delivery of allocated sections of work on site.
  • Lead site teams to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme requirements.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and direct labour.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
  • Monitor programme progress and proactively resolve construction challenges.
  • Work closely with engineering and commercial teams to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Review construction methodologies, risk assessments and method statements.
  • Maintain accurate site records, reporting and documentation.
  • Build strong working relationships with clients, stakeholders and delivery partners.
  • Support the successful commercial and operational performance of the project.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Site Agent on major heavy civil engineering projects.
  • Strong background delivering large-scale infrastructure works.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary site teams and subcontractors.
  • Excellent understanding of construction methodologies and site management.
  • Knowledge of NEC contracts would be advantageous.
  • SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications.
  • Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
