What you'll be doing

  • Lead technical assurance for rail infrastructure
  • Leading the development and implementation of permanent way engineering standards
  • Providing technical assurance across rail infrastructure and depot operations.
  • Reviewing and approving contractor inspection reports, maintenance strategies, and engineering documentation
  • Managing technical interfaces between the infrastructure owner, the infrastructure manager, and sub-contractors
  • Reviewing and approving RAMS and engineering submissions
  • Advising on infrastructure defects, renewals, and risk mitigation strategies
  • Supporting procurement and commercial teams with technical requirements
  • Carrying out engineering audits and inspections to ensure contractor compliance
  • Promoting a strong culture of safety, engineering excellence, and continuous improvement
  • Act as the Contractors Engineering Manager (CEM)
  • Drive safety, compliance, and engineering excellence

  • Previous CEM experience preferred
  • Good working knowledge of Network Rail and industry standards
  • Excellent stakeholder and contractor management skills
  • PTS preferred
