Civil Structural Consultant

Stockport | Hybrid Working
£45,000 - £60,000 per annum (c. 4-8 years experience)

Move beyond design. Help deliver the infrastructure powering the energy transition.

Not every Civil or Structural Engineer wants to spend their career sat behind design software. If you're looking to take a broader role in project delivery, technical coordination and stakeholder management while still applying your engineering expertise, this consultancy could offer the perfect next step.

Our client is a leading independent engineering consultancy working at the forefront of the UK's energy and infrastructure sectors. Their teams support the development and delivery of major projects including battery storage facilities, renewable energy developments, hydrogen schemes, power generation assets and electricity network infrastructure.

This role offers the opportunity to work as a trusted technical advisor, helping clients deliver complex engineering projects from concept through to construction, without being primarily responsible for detailed design production.

The Opportunity

You'll act as a key technical point of contact across a range of energy and infrastructure projects, coordinating engineering activities, reviewing technical outputs and helping projects progress through planning, design and construction phases.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
