Civil / Structural Design Engineer Glasgow Permanent

This opportunity is open to engineers with 3+ years' experience, through to senior-level professionals. We are particularly interested in candidates with Temporary Works design experience, although we will also consider Senior Engineers with 7+ years' experience gained within infrastructure, bridges, energy, or related civil/structural engineering sectors.

The Role

You'll work on a diverse portfolio of challenging projects, developing innovative design solutions and taking responsibility for delivering engineering excellence.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Temporary Works design in accordance with BS 5975 and Eurocodes
  • Design and assessment of steel, reinforced concrete and timber structures
  • Temporary propping schemes
  • Demolition stability assessments
  • Excavation support systems
  • Façade retention design
  • Scaffold design
  • Piling platform design
  • Production of calculations, drawings and technical reports
  • Client-facing project delivery and stakeholder engagement
  • Site visits and technical support during construction phases

About You

  • A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years' relevant industry experience
  • Strong civil and/or structural design capabilities
  • Understanding of BS 5975 and Eurocodes
  • Working towards Chartered status (ICE or IStructE)
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills
  • Ability to manage projects independently and collaboratively
