The Position: Civil & Structural Technical Authority
The Discipline Technical Authority (TA) acts as the organisation’s highest technical specialist within their discipline. They provide authoritative engineering expertise, maintain technical standards, and ensure that InSite’s engineering output meets statutory, safety, and industry requirements.
The TA supports the Engineering Manager and Discipline Lead by providing expert technical guidance, developing discipline capability, overseeing audit and compliance activities, and engaging with clients as a recognised technical representative to support business opportunities.
The TA is a senior, discipline‑wide role— reporting directly to the Engineering Manager.
Some of the main responsibilities of the Civil & Structural Technical Authority will include:
- Lead investigations into Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and implement corrective actions.
- Provide expert technical guidance and ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Support project delivery through technical reviews, assurance and governance activities.
- Build strong relationships with client SMEs and represent the business at technical reviews.
- Contribute technical expertise to bids, proposals and business development opportunities.
- Support recruitment, mentoring, competency development and training initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement of engineering processes, tools, documentation and quality systems.

Preferred Profile:
We are looking for individuals who can bring the following skills and experience:
- Experience engineer within the civil and structural deliverables, in an EPC project environment, ideally from an engineering and design consultancy setting.
- Have previously delivered design packages across Concept, FEED and Detailed Design for Oil & Gas, Energy, COMAH, Industrial, or similar projects.
- Strong understanding of civil and structural design development with knowledge of relevant codes, standards and industry practices.
- Comfortable coordinating with multidisciplinary design teams, and confident engaging with EPC contractors & owners / operators.
- Brownfield or modification project exposure is an advantage.
- Chartered Engineer (ICE and/or IStructE).
- Reside locally in Pembrokeshire, or willing to relocate.
Please note many of our UK projects require high-level security clearance meaning that visa sponsorship is not guaranteed and is assessed on a case-by-case basis, depending on role criticality and project needs.
