Civil Technician
We’re looking for a Civil Technician to join BakerHicks, supporting the delivery of complex infrastructure and multidisciplinary projects across sectors including aviation, life sciences, nuclear, defence, public, power, rail, highways and others. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be actively involved in project delivery, working closely with engineers and multidisciplinary teams to develop high-quality technical outputs across a varied portfolio of work. You’ll gain exposure to projects ranging from large-scale infrastructure through to highly regulated environments, with the opportunity to contribute throughout the full project lifecycle. What you’ll be doing Producing high-quality civil engineering drawings and models using Civil 3D Supporting the design and coordination of drainage, highways, earthworks and external works infrastructure Working closely with Civil Engineers and multidisciplinary teams across a range of sectors and projects Assisting with design development from concept through to detailed design and delivery Contributing to project coordination and ensuring technical outputs meet client, regulatory and quality requirements Supporting project delivery with a strong focus on accuracy, collaboration and technical detail What we’re looking for Experience working in a Civil Technician role within an engineering consultancy or similar environment Strong working knowledge of Civil 3D is essential Experience contributing to infrastructure or built environment projects Good understanding of civil engineering design principles relating to drainage, highways and external works Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams and manage workload across multiple projects A proactive approach and willingness to continue developing technically To support work within sectors such as defence and nuclear, candidates must be eligible to obtain security clearance where required Why BakerHicks You’ll be part of a collaborative team delivering technically varied projects across multiple sectors, with ongoing support for training, technical development and long-term career progression. The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of security clearance or assurance level for this role, in line with client and sector requirements.
