Job Description: Civil Litigation Solicitor or Employed Barrister

Gherson is a market leader and a pre-eminent firm of solicitors in the UK and Brussels, providing specialist advice and representation in UK immigration, international protection, corporate and individual financial crime and dispute resolution, including civil litigation and international arbitration.

We are a diverse and agile firm, who pride ourselves on our quality of work, client service and passion for our practice. We are now seeking a Civil Litigation Solicitor or employed barrister with 2+ years of post-qualification experience to join our expanding Dispute Resolution Team, which focuses on complex and high-value litigation and arbitration, including cases with a sanctions-related component.

Responsibilities

We would like to hear from candidates who can demonstrate the following:

  • Experience in a top-market/boutique City disputes resolution practice (or practices), focusing predominantly or solely on civil matters concerning high-value and/or complex corporate, commercial and financial disputes.
  • A strong grasp of the CPR and the Commercial Court Guide, as well as the CE-File system.
  • A proven track record of working on complex civil litigation across their career to date.
  • An ability to handle their own caseload for less complex cases, as well as assist on larger matters.
  • Management of junior team members and ability to progress cases independently.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
