Civils Commercial Administrator
JML Contracts is a growing construction business with over 60 employees, working across civils, housebuilding and luxury garden rooms.
We’re looking for an experienced administrator to join the team, with a particular focus on supporting our Civils division.
This is a varied role covering both general business administration and hands-on support to the Civils team. You’ll be involved in everything from new enquiries and tenders through to purchasing, project paperwork, supplier communication and helping keep live projects organised.
You don’t need to come from a construction background, but you do need to be organised, confident dealing with different priorities and interested in learning more about the commercial side of the business.
What you’ll be doing
- Logging new Civils enquiries and keeping information organised
- Sending pricing enquiries to suppliers and subcontractors and following these up
- Helping with estimating spreadsheets and pulling together pricing information
- Supporting tender submissions and making sure documentation is completed on time
- Issuing quotations and maintaining accurate records
- Setting up project folders and keeping project paperwork up to date
- Raising purchase orders and helping organise materials, plant and deliveries
- Liaising with the Contracts Manager, suppliers, subcontractors and site teams
- Recording changes and variations and flagging these to the relevant manager
- Helping collate information for invoicing and project close-out
- Supporting general office administration, including calls, emails and meetings
- Assisting with HR administration including absence records, starter and leaver paperwork, employee files and training records
- Arranging travel and accommodation for projects where required

You’ll have excellent administration and organisational skills, strong attention to detail and be comfortable using Excel, Word and everyday office systems.
You’ll also need to be able to manage several priorities at once, communicate confidently with different people and follow things through without needing to be chased.
A practical attitude and willingness to get involved are really important. Construction experience would be useful, but it isn’t essential.
