The role
This is a rare opportunity to join a close-knit team of 4 civil maintenance professionals whose responsibility is to ensure equipment and facilities on the airfield pavements operate. The ideal candidate must be physically fit, have a valid driver’s license and a willingness to learn other new skills such as road sweeping in order to conduct their duties effectively.

Duties include:
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality pavement repairs, line marking, grounds maintenance and associated civil works, providing a reliable and professional service to passengers, tenants and other airport stakeholders.
- Deliver both planned and reactive maintenance activities, including inspections of airside and landside civil infrastructure and assets.
- Undertake routine airport maintenance activities, including runway and airfield line marking, pavement repairs, road network maintenance, aircraft stand maintenance, and the inspection and monitoring of airport systems and water management equipment.
- Ensure all work is carried out in full compliance with company policies, health and safety requirements, and applicable Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) guidelines and regulations.
- Identify, report and respond appropriately to hazards, defects, damage or other irregularities to ensure that health, safety and operational standards are consistently maintained.
- Work as a self-motivated and dependable team member, with a strong commitment to quality, attention to detail and the ability to identify defects promptly and apply effective problem-solving skills.
What will make you successful in the role?
- Previous experience or knowledge of civil maintenance is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
- HGV licence is desirable but not essential.
- Relevant road works and street works qualifications are advantageous.
- Knowledge and experience of pavement inspections and condition assessments.
- Willingness and ability to participate in on-call duties and respond to pavement failures and other urgent maintenance requirements outside normal working hours.
- Experience using asset management and maintenance systems, such as MALMS and MAXIMO, is desirable.
- Strong understanding of safe working practices, with the ability to work effectively in both airside and landside environments.
