We’re looking for a Civils Operative to join our Connections team and play a key role in preparing our network for customer connections.
Reporting to the Civils Foreman, you’ll carry out a range of civils and telecoms activities to support the delivery of our FTTP network. You’ll work across highways, footways and private property, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.

What you'll be doing:
- Installing, repairing and maintaining network ducting to support customer connections.
- Carrying out rodding and roping, including identifying and clearing blockages within underground infrastructure.
- Excavating and reinstating highways, footways and private property to the required standards.
- Installing draw ropes and drop cables following duct installation or repair.
- Operating plant and equipment such as stone saws, wacker plates and trench compactors, where appropriately trained and certified.
- Completing digital job records, vehicle checks, risk assessments and other required documentation while maintaining high standards of health & safety.
What we're looking for:
- Experience working in a civils, utilities or telecommunications environment.
- Good understanding of street works and reinstatement standards.
- Working knowledge of NRSWA requirements, including Signing, Lighting and Guarding.
- Experience working with permit systems and an understanding of their operational limitations.
- A strong commitment to health & safety, including identifying hazards and following risk assessments.
- Ability to work independently, use initiative and communicate effectively with colleagues and customers.
- A full UK driving licence.

Desirable Qualifications:
- PIA accreditations – SA001, SA002, S7 and S8.
- IPAF.
- NRSWA – Signing, Lighting and Guarding.
