Civils Operatives Wanted

We are looking for skilled and motivated Civils Operatives to support the delivery of EV charging installation projects across England and Wales. The role involves a broad range of groundwork and civil engineering tasks to ensure installations are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high professional standard. You will play a key part in the expansion of our EV infrastructure capability and contribute to the quality, safety, and success of each project.

Hours

40 hours per week

Key Duties Will Include

  • Perform groundwork activities, including excavation, drainage, concreting, kerbing, paving, and other general construction duties.
  • Lay foundations, including footings, for EV Chargers
  • Operate plant machinery, such as excavators, dumpers, and rollers, in a safe and effective manner (appropriately trained and licensed).
  • Follow plans and drawings to ensure work is carried out to specification.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations and site rules at all times.
  • Collaborate with team members, site supervisors, and other contractors to achieve project goals.
  • Ensure tools, equipment, and materials are maintained and stored appropriately.
  • Perform any additional duties as required to support project completion.
  • Work safely around utilities, plant, and excavations, following all company and industry procedures, and promptly report any hazards, near misses, or environmental issues.
  • Carry out groundworks safely and in line with ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards, including adherence to RAMS, PPE requirements, safe systems of work, effective waste segregation, and environmental protection.
  • Support continuous improvement by contributing to initiatives that enhance quality, safety, efficiency, and environmental performance.

The Ideal Applicant

  • Valid CSCS card
  • NPORS / CPCS (360 Excavator, Dumper etc.)
  • SWQR (Street works), although we can provide training for the right candidate
  • Proven experience as a Groundworker or Civils Operative in construction or civil engineering.
  • Competence in groundwork tasks such as drainage, concreting, and kerbing.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
  • Physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
