Civils QA Inspector – Telecommunications Infrastructure (London)

Location: London (Site-based)
Contract Type: 3-month contract – Extendable - Outside IR35

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Civils QA Inspector to join a major telecommunications infrastructure programme for a leading global Hyperscaler. This is a field-based quality assurance and progress monitoring role focused on the independent inspection, observation, and reporting of civil works associated with fibre network deployment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing the quality and progress of construction activities, ensuring compliance with design specifications, client requirements, safety standards, and local authority regulations. You will provide detailed inspection reports, photographic evidence, and accurate site records to support project delivery and quality assurance.

  • Proven QA/QC experience on fibre telecommunications civils projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct site inspections of:
    • Site set-up
    • Trenching works
    • Duct installation
    • Chamber construction
    • Reinstatement works
  • Verify that works are completed in accordance with design specifications, approved construction methods, and quality standards.
  • Monitor and report on construction progress, documenting completed works, works in progress, and planned activities.
  • Track work locations and maintain accurate records aligned with project plans and GIS systems.
  • Capture photographic evidence and maintain detailed inspection documentation.
  • Identify and report quality defects, non-conformances, and safety concerns.
  • Carry out Health & Safety observations and immediately report unsafe practices.
  • Liaise with contractors, project teams, and relevant stakeholders to communicate findings and support issue resolution.
  • Assess reinstatement quality and ensure compliance with client and local authority requirements.
  • Produce accurate daily reports detailing inspections, progress, site activities, and locations.

Requirements

  • Full valid driving licence
  • Own vehicle available for daily site visits
  • Ability to travel throughout the Dublin region and surrounding areas
  • Experience producing inspection reports and photographic records
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety and quality compliance requirements within telecoms construction.

Desirable

  • Experience working on fibre network rollouts or telecom infrastructure programmes.
  • Knowledge of GIS systems and location-based reporting.
  • Experience working with Tier 1 telecom contractors or hyperscale client projects.
