Quantity Surveyor, civil engineering (Gloucestershire and Midlands)

Gloucestershire / Midlands | Salary competitive, dependent on experience | Car allowance

The opportunity

An established civil engineering principal contractor operating across the South West and Midlands, delivering projects up to around £20 million across infrastructure, highways, industrial and commercial, flood defence, and bridges and structures. Their client base spans local authorities, national frameworks, and private developers, including major housebuilders, so the project mix is genuinely varied rather than one type of scheme on repeat.

They are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to manage the commercial side of civil engineering projects from pre-construction through to final account, working closely with site and project teams to protect margin and keep contracts commercially sound throughout delivery. This suits someone who wants to be properly embedded in live civil projects rather than sitting purely behind a desk.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
