Civils Site Manager

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Civils Site Manager to oversee the delivery of a major District Heating Scheme in Worthing. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and highly competent Site Manager with a strong background in heavy civils and utility infrastructure projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing site operations, ensuring work is delivered safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards, while maintaining compliance with all project and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day management of site operations on a district heating infrastructure project.
  • Coordinating subcontractors, direct labour, plant, and materials.
  • Ensuring all works are carried out safely and in accordance with company procedures and industry regulations.
  • Managing programme delivery and reporting progress to senior management.
  • Conducting site inspections, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
  • Overseeing excavation, reinstatement, and street works activities.
  • Ensuring quality standards are maintained throughout project delivery.
  • Liaising with clients, local authorities, utility providers, and stakeholders.
  • Managing permits, temporary traffic management, and street works requirements.
  • Monitoring compliance with Temporary Works procedures and site documentation.

Essential Requirements

  • SMSTS
  • CSCS Card
  • First Aid at Work
  • Temporary Works Coordinator/Supervisor
  • Proven experience as a Site Manager on civil engineering projects.
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental legislation.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Desirable Experience

  • Heavy civils projects.
  • Major utilities infrastructure schemes.
  • District heating projects.
  • Directional Drilling (HDD).
  • Conventional Drilling.
  • Deep excavations and trenching works.
  • Street Works (NRSWA).
  • Utility diversion and installation projects.
