Civils/ Structural Inspector - Teesside
£45/hr (outside IR35) + site-based + average 45hr working week + long-term contract (min 12 months & rolling) + immediate start
Purpose of the Role
The Civil & Structural Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all civil, structural, and concrete construction activities are performed in accordance with project specifications, approved drawings, applicable codes and standards, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and client requirements. The role provides surveillance, inspection, and verification of construction works to ensure compliance and prevent non-conformances.
General
- Ensure compliance with all Project HSES standards & documentation.
- Possess a minimum of 10 years in Civils/ structural Inspection.
- Responsible for timely inspection during civils structural activities, proactive in the prevention of non - compliance and problem resolution.
- Attention to detail, commitment to a "Right - First - Time" ethos.
- Good coordination, interpersonal skills.
- Good written skills, ability to present data in a clear and concise manner.
- Self - motivating, well organized, resourceful and proactive.

Qualification and Knowledge
- Previous experience in QC inspection essential.
- Experience in structural steel fabrication and erection.
General Inspection Duties Description
Civils/ structural inspector shall in general be responsible for monitoring performance of Quality Control matters. Main tasks include:
- Monitor/ review material test certificates in line with project specifications.
- Ensure project preservation requirements are followed.
- Ensure traceability of materials are maintained.
- Witness manufacturing activities as per agreed ITP ensuring compliance to project standards.
- Endorse all associated reports and ITP points where appropriate.
- Ensure manufacture, record book is completed, reviewed, endorsed, and appropriately saved in agreed storage location.
- Feedback into supplier performance evaluation.
