Location: Coatbridge, KRG Engineering Location

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

As part of the Torishima Group, we combine world-class expertise with local innovation, supporting some of the most demanding sectors in the UK and beyond.

We are expanding our talented team and are looking for a Clad Welder to join us at our Coatbridge Location. This is your opportunity to play a key role in our growth and contribute to our reputation for precision, reliability, and excellence.

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Clad Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in welding components for the Oil & Gas sector, specialising in automated GTAW cladding/overlay techniques, specifically with Inconel 625. You will be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring automated welding systems to apply high-integrity corrosion-resistant alloy (CRA) overlays to critical components.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Automated Cladding: Set up, calibrate, and operate Auto GTAW (TIG) cladding/overlay equipment to deposit Inconel 625 on various Oil & Gas components (e.g., valves, flanges, risers, manifolds, bore interiors).
  • Equipment Operation: Efficiently operate and program Fronius series automated welding systems (or equivalent advanced GTAW cladding rigs/controllers).
  • Quality & Compliance: Ensure all weld overlays meet strict industry standards (e.g., API, ASME IX, NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156) and customer-specific non-destructive testing (NDT) criteria (UT, PT, visual inspection).
  • Pre- & Post-Weld Preparation: Perform proper joint/surface preparation, pre-heating, interpass temperature control, and post-weld thermal monitoring as specified by Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS).
  • Process Monitoring: Monitor welding parameters (current, voltage, travel speed, wire feed rate, shielding gas flow) throughout the cladding process to prevent defect formation (e.g., porosity, lack of fusion, cracking, excessive dilution).
  • Documentation & Maintenance: Maintain clear daily weld logs, material traceability records, and conduct basic routine maintenance and troubleshooting on welding equipment and torches.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
