As a Claims Adjuster, you will take ownership of a varied caseload of UK casualty claims, including employers’ liability (EL), public liability (PL) and product liability matters, managing claims from first notification through to resolution.

Working closely with clients, brokers and internal colleagues, you will investigate claims, assess liability and coverage, manage reserves and identify practical solutions. You will have the autonomy to manage your own workload while being part of a collaborative team committed to excellent service, professional development and successful client outcomes.

This role offers remote working but may include travel to a local office for clients or team meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Apply client claims strategies and service standards effectively across all claims, ensuring a consistent and high-quality approach.
  • Investigate technical and claims-related issues, identifying practical solutions and continuously developing technical knowledge and expertise.
  • Contribute to the commercial success of the team through excellent client service, effective claims management and the development of professional relationships.
  • Proactively identify risks, issues and opportunities within claims, recommending solutions that add value for clients and support successful claim outcomes.
  • Manage claims proactively from first notification through to closure, ensuring each matter receives the appropriate level of investigation, analysis and technical handling.
  • Maintain accurate reserves in line with client reserving philosophies and ensure compliance with all contractual service level agreements and claims handling standards.
  • Deliver clear, timely and professional communication to clients, brokers, colleagues and other stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of a claim.
  • Ensure all claims are handled in accordance with relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, internal procedures and client-specific protocols.
  • Maintain accurate claims records and management information, ensuring data integrity and timely reporting.

What will help you succeed in this role?

Essential

  • Experience in a claims-handling, insurance or legal environment.
  • Practical experience managing UK casualty claims, including employers’ liability (EL), public liability (PL) and product liability matters.
  • Strong technical claims knowledge, including the ability to interpret policy coverage.
  • A track record of delivering positive claim outcomes and high standards of client service.
  • Commercial awareness and a good understanding of client needs.
  • The ability to build effective working relationships with clients, colleagues and other stakeholders.
  • Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands and manage a varied caseload.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to review and analyse complex information accurately.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018.
  • Experience handling international public liability claims.
  • Experience managing complex or high-value personal injury, employers’ liability (EL) or public liability (PL) claims, including claims valued above £100,000.
