Claims Adjuster

Location: London
Working Arrangement: Hybrid
Contract: Full-time

Overview

Our client is an established international insurance organisation seeking a Claims Adjuster to join its Complex International Casualty team.

The role will manage a diverse global portfolio of complex casualty claims, including construction, product recall, environmental, and general liability matters. The successful candidate will assess policy coverage, investigate and negotiate claims, pursue appropriate recoveries, and work closely with underwriters, customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

This is an opportunity for an experienced insurance professional to develop their career within a specialist claims environment while contributing to the delivery of wider claims and business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate, evaluate, and resolve complex international casualty claims.
  • Assess policy coverage and ensure liability remains aligned with contractual commitments.
  • Manage disputed and material claims through to timely and commercially appropriate settlement.
  • Identify subrogation, contribution, and other recovery opportunities, pursuing them where appropriate.
  • Deliver a high-quality claims service while minimizing claims leakage.
  • Support the implementation of the claims strategy and the achievement of wider business targets.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with customers, brokers, suppliers, and other external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with underwriters to ensure the Claims function supports wider business requirements.
  • Provide technical support and guidance on specialist casualty claims.
  • Maintain accurate claim records and ensure work is completed in line with agreed standards.

Requirements

  • Experience handling international casualty claims.
  • Experience of US casualty claims would be advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of policy coverage, claims investigation, and settlement.
  • Effective negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Strong planning, organization, and time-management capabilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective internal and external relationships.
  • The right to work in the UK, as visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
