Claims Assistant
Salary: £35,000 | Full-Time | Office Based (5 Days per Week)
Our client is a well-established and growing organisation within the marine and shipping sector, seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Claims Assistant to join their busy team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a bright and ambitious individual looking to develop a long-term career in claims, insurance, shipping, or maritime operations. The role would particularly suit someone with strong academic credentials, including excellent A-Level results and/or a degree.
The Role
Working closely with experienced claims professionals, you will provide administrative and operational support across a range of marine claims activities. You will gain exposure to the full claims process, liaising with internal stakeholders, clients, brokers, and third parties to ensure claims are handled efficiently and accurately.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the administration of marine claims from notification through to settlement
- Maintaining accurate records and claims documentation
- Liaising with clients, brokers, surveyors, and legal representatives
- Preparing reports, correspondence, and claims summaries
- Monitoring claims progress and chasing outstanding information
- Supporting the wider claims team with day-to-day administrative tasks
- Ensuring all data is recorded accurately and in line with company procedures
About You
- Strong academic background, ideally with excellent A-Levels and/or a degree
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
- Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Professional, proactive, and eager to learn
- Previous administrative, insurance, shipping, or claims experience is advantageous but not essential
