Claims Adviser
📍 Southend-on-Sea, Essex (Office Based)
💰 £28,000 per annum
⏰ Full Time | Permanent | Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm

We are looking for a Claims Adviser to join our friendly and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with claims handling or customer service experience who is looking to develop their career within a growing and dynamic business.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Claims Adviser, you'll play a key role in supporting customers throughout the claims process, ensuring every claim is handled efficiently, fairly, and professionally.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Managing claims involving loss, theft, and accidental damage
- Processing claims and refund requests following full training
- Liaising with underwriters regarding policy and product queries
- Working collaboratively with internal departments to achieve timely claim resolutions
- Handling customer service and sales enquiries via phone and email
- Processing customer payments, premiums, and excess charges
- Managing policy cancellations and discussing retention options with customers
- Recording and handling first-line complaints in line with company procedures

What We're Looking For
We're seeking a highly organised and customer-focused individual who thrives in a busy environment and takes pride in delivering excellent service.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous claims handling or customer service experience within a regulated environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Confident dealing with customers by telephone and email
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
- Positive, proactive approach with a genuine commitment to customer satisfaction
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- A willingness to identify improvements and contribute new ideas
