Department: [SBISL] Claims Analytics

Location: Bristol

Compensation: £47,000 - £55,000 / year

Description

Somerset Bridge Group are seeking a Claims Analytics Analyst to deliver impactful claims insight that supports pricing strategy, portfolio performance, and data-driven decision-making across the business.

As a Claims Analytics Analyst, you will develop and enhance reporting, dashboards, and management information (MI) that provide visibility of claims performance across the portfolio. Through proactive monitoring and analysis, you will identify emerging trends, potential risks, and opportunities, helping the business make informed decisions and respond quickly to changes in claims experience.

You'll work closely with colleagues across Claims, Pricing, Underwriting, and wider business teams to deliver clear, actionable insight, translating complex data into engaging and easy-to-understand recommendations. As your expertise develops, you'll have the opportunity to undertake more advanced analytical projects, applying statistical and modelling techniques to solve business challenges and influence strategic decision-making.

The role also requires a strong focus on data quality, governance, and regulatory compliance, ensuring sensitive customer information is managed responsibly and in line with business and regulatory requirements.

What you'll be responsible for:

  • Develop and maintain MI, dashboards, and reporting to monitor claims performance and portfolio trends.
  • Analyse claims data to identify emerging risks, opportunities, and key performance drivers.
  • Deliver regular and ad hoc insight to support Pricing, Underwriting, and Claims decision-making.
  • Support pricing strategy through analysis of claims frequency, severity, and development trends.
  • Contribute to the development of early warning indicators and performance monitoring tools.
  • Monitor key claims KPIs, highlighting exceptions and recommending areas for further investigation.
  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Claims, Pricing, Finance, and operational teams to deliver insight-led improvements.
  • Drive continuous improvement in reporting, analytics, processes, and data quality.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance standards, regulatory requirements, and information security policies.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
