The role
What will you be doing?
Location: Basingstoke
Working Pattern: Hybrid, 3 days in 2 WFH
Starting salary: £25,500
At Unum, we're here to help people when they need us most. As a Claims Coordinator within our Dental and Health Claims team, you'll play an important part in delivering excellent service to our customers, ensuring claims are assessed fairly, accurately and efficiently from submission through to settlement.

We are seeking both a permanent Claims Coordinator and a 12 month FTC Secondment. You can be considered for both of these opportunities

As a Claims Coordinator, you'll be responsible for managing a portfolio of dental and health claims, ensuring each claim is handled professionally and in line with policy terms and conditions.

You Will
- Assess and manage claims from initial submission through to settlement.
- Communicate with customers through a variety of channels, delivering a high standard of service at every interaction.
- Review claim information and make fair, accurate decisions based on policy terms and conditions.
- Clearly explain claim outcomes and policy coverage to customers.
- Agree claim settlements within your authority levels and escalate where appropriate.
- Ensure all claims are handled in line with regulatory, compliance and quality standards.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve team and operational objectives.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to continuous improvement within the team.
What are we looking for?
We're looking for someone who enjoys delivering a great customer experience and has a strong eye for detail.
You'll Ideally Have
- Experience in a customer service, administration or claims environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good attention to detail and the ability to make informed decisions.
- A positive, team-focused approach.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English, or relevant practical experience.
