Sompo has a unique opportunity for a Claims Data Analytics Lead in our Claims Operations team.
Claims Data Analytics Lead supports and executes deliverables in line with UK Claims strategy and Claims data roadmap, provides analytics and insights to drive continuous improvement across claims operations. The role is responsible for developing effective analytical products to ensure all regulatory, portfolio, and operational reporting is accurate and delivered within required timelines.

What you’ll be doing:
Claims data & analytics strategy
- Develop analytical data products and outputs to monitor and report on Key Performance Indicators for UK Claims.
- Contribute to the delivery of MI & Analytics change priorities to meet and deliver against UK Claims priorities.
- Develop self-service reporting tools to support the delivery of management information to improve productivity and help to drive real-time business decisions.
- Support the education and skills of others within UK Claims, to generate a data first mindset and skills that enable advanced data literacy within claims portfolio management.
Policy, Process and Procedures
- Ensure awareness of and compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies.
Environmental Awareness/Customer Focus
- Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships across UK Claims and other functions within Sompo.
- Support the development of data led insights that raise awareness of performance, customer experience, and claim outcomes.

Technical Performance
- Support the UK Claims function in the production of analytical and insight driven products and outputs.
- Produce regular statistical and analytical claims information to Portfolio and Risk Managers and Senior Management to enable effective monitoring of Claims.
- Act as a referral point to other members of the UK Claims Operations team on specific tasks or in the absence of appropriate Head of role owner.
People Management
- Acts as a point of reference to guide and advise others to ensure the sharing of knowledge and best practice.
- Supports others in the team where appropriate to assist in the achievement of their objectives.
What you’ll bring:
- Experience working in Financial services industry would be advantageous.
- In depth experience of working in data and analytical environment.
- Extensive and relevant knowledge of the demands of an analytically focused role.
- Extensive experience of working with and extracting data from systems and analytical tools.
- Experience of working within a highly regulated environment.
- Genuine interest in process improvement and generating efficiencies.
- Understanding technical claims handling would be advantageous.
- Proficient in data visualisation tools (Tableau, Power BI).
- Proficient in MS Excel.
- Working knowledge of SQL.
- Knowledge of Python would be advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good organisational skills.
- Able to work independently.
- Able to manage conflicting priorities to achieve deadlines.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong Investigative skills.
- Able to produce detailed reports and analytical packs at various levels.
