About This Role
As a Claims Handler, you'll play a key role in managing a caseload of network damage claims on behalf of BT and Openreach, overseeing both pre and post-billing activities. You'll support Openreach's strategic objectives and continued development, while contributing to team success through effective cash collection and the reduction of aged debt, helping deliver against recovery targets.
What You'll Be Doing
- Proactively manage a caseload through the pre- and post-litigation stages, ensuring cases are progressed efficiently through to conclusion.
- Prepare and progress billing claims on behalf of BT and Openreach, maintaining ownership of claims throughout the recovery process.
- Contribute to team billing and recovery targets by achieving individual performance objectives and supporting cash collection activities.
- Investigate liability and collate evidence from solicitors, insurers, loss adjusters and key stakeholders to support accurate billing, successful claim recovery and satisfactory settlements.
Essential Skills/experience
- Claims handling expertise with proven experience of independently managing a high-volume caseload, progressing claims through investigation, recovery and settlement stages.
- Litigation and legal knowledge, including a sound understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules, experience drafting statements of case and witness statements, and preparing for and attending final hearings.
- Investigation and stakeholder management skills, with experience gathering and assessing evidence from internal stakeholders and third parties, alongside a good working knowledge of GDPR/Data Protection legislation and its practical application within a regulated environment.

- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and deliver positive customer outcomes.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to confidently use tools such as Outlook, Word and Excel to manage workloads and maintain accurate records.
