Exciting opportunity for an experienced Claims Handler

What will you be responsible for:

We are seeking an experienced Commercial & Property Claims Handler to join our dedicated team supporting a key client across multiple bespoke insurance schemes. This is a pivotal role responsible for managing a varied caseload, including both commercial claims and residential property claims.

Key Responsibilities:

Claims Handling:

  • Manage an allocated caseload of commercial and residential property claims from first notification through to settlement.
  • Handle high-value and complex losses, ensuring accurate assessment, liability evaluation, and timely progression.
  • Investigate claims thoroughly, gathering and reviewing evidence, reports, and supporting documentation.
  • Negotiate settlements and manage external suppliers such as loss adjusters, contractors, surveyors, and legal representatives.

Client & Stakeholder Management:

  • Act as a key point of contact for a major client across multiple schemes, ensuring a professional and tailored service.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with brokers, policyholders, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Provide regular updates to clients and internal stakeholders regarding claim statuses and emerging issues.

Compliance & Quality:

  • Ensure all claims are handled in accordance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and client service level agreements.
  • Maintain accurate file records and ensure all systems are updated promptly.
  • Identify potential fraud and escalate appropriately.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities for process improvements.
  • Contribute to the team with best-practice claims handling guidance.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of processes, documentation, and service delivery standards.

What we need from you:

  • Cert CII and / or Cert CILA
  • Minimum 2 Year Claims handling proven experience in handling commercial property and residential property claims, including high-value or complex cases.
  • Strong technical understanding of policy coverage claims processes, and loss assessment.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with claims management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
