Claims Handling Manager
As part of our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Claims Handling Manager to lead a team of claims professionals whilst managing a portfolio of complex Professional Indemnity (PI) and financial lines claims.
This role is ideal for an established claims leader with strong PI experience who enjoys developing people, building client relationships and driving operational excellence. You will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of claims services while supporting the growth and development of a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and develop a team of claims professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Oversee the management of a portfolio of complex Professional Indemnity claims, ensuring excellent client outcomes and service delivery.
- Act as a senior referral point for technical and coverage-related matters.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with insurer, MGA and broker clients.
- Monitor team performance against service level agreements, KPIs and client expectations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance processes, technology and operational efficiency.
- Support business development activities, including client pitches, relationship management and new scheme implementation.
- Produce and analyse management information, claims trends and performance data for clients and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, client protocols and internal governance standards.
- Work closely with legal and claims colleagues to deliver an integrated claims and legal service offering.

What We're Looking For

Essential
- Significant experience handling Professional Indemnity claims, either within an insurer, MGA, broker, TPA or legal environment.
- Previous people management experience, leading and developing claims teams.
- Strong technical understanding of PI coverage, policy wordings and claims handling procedures.
- Proven ability to manage key client relationships and deliver exceptional service.
- Commercial awareness and a solutions-focused approach.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and leadership skills.
Desirable
- Experience across wider financial lines products including D&O, Crime, Cyber or Financial Institutions.
- London Market or delegated authority claims experience.
- ACII, Cert CII or equivalent insurance qualification.
- Experience managing operational change and process improvement initiatives.
