Job Title: Claims Manager – Birmingham
Salary: Up to £50,000

About the Company
An established insurance business with a strong commercial client base is looking to strengthen its claims function. The business offers a supportive and professional environment, with a focus on delivering high-quality technical claims support and client service.
Role Summary
This role suits an experienced commercial claims specialist, or a motivated Senior Claims Handler ready to step into leadership. You will handle complex commercial claims, including property and liability matters, while supporting and developing colleagues within the wider claims function. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of claims processes and service standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and support a small claims team, developing your leadership capabilities while cultivating a collaborative and supportive environment.
- Take ownership of complex commercial property and liability claims, sharpening your technical expertise across challenging and high-level files.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to review and refine claims procedures, giving you genuine strategic input into the structure of the function.
- Negotiate directly with clients, insurers and loss adjusters on key claims, expanding your senior market profile and industry network.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience handling commercial insurance claims, with strong knowledge of property and liability risks.
- A track record of delivering high standards of client service within an insurance broker or commercial insurer setting.
- Prior mentoring or leadership experience, or clear readiness as an experienced Senior Claims Handler to step into formal management.
- Proficiency with commercial broking platforms and strong stakeholder-management skills, with Dip CII study or progress viewed favourably.
