Claims Manager – Commercial Claims

Lead, Develop and Make an Impact

An established and growing insurance business is seeking an experienced Claims Manager to lead a high-performing Commercial Claims team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a people-focused leader who is passionate about developing talent, driving performance, and creating a positive team culture. You'll have responsibility for leading a team of Claims Executives and Claims Handlers across multiple locations, ensuring exceptional service delivery while supporting the continued growth and development of your people.

The Role

As Claims Manager, you will take ownership of the day-to-day operation of the Commercial Claims function, providing leadership, coaching, and direction to ensure the team delivers outstanding outcomes for clients and the wider business.

You will play a key role in building capability, improving performance, and embedding a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of Claims Executives and Handlers.
  • Conducting regular performance reviews, 1-2-1s, coaching sessions, and development planning.
  • Managing team performance, recruitment, succession planning, and skills development initiatives.
  • Ensuring the efficient handling of commercial claims and delivery of a high-quality client service.
  • Driving operational excellence through process improvement and effective use of management information and performance data.
  • Working closely with stakeholders across HR, Learning & Development, Broking, Client Service, and Operations.
  • Managing client complaints and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Supporting the implementation of business strategy, policies, and operational objectives.

About You

We're looking for an experienced claims leader with a strong background in the commercial insurance market and a genuine passion for developing people.

You'll bring:

  • A minimum of 3 years' leadership or management experience within commercial insurance claims.
  • A proven track record of leading, motivating, and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial claims handling and general insurance principles.
  • Experience using MI, reporting tools, and performance data to drive decision-making and improvement.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • A collaborative and hands-on leadership style.
  • Cert CII qualification (or actively working towards it).
