The opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Claims Manager with the professional reputation and relationships to introduce Vanguard Tech’s salvage capabilities to claims managers across the London insurance market.

The ideal candidate brings substantial experience handling significant marine claims at a leading insurer or other major market organisation. You will understand what claims managers need when a maritime casualty occurs and have the credibility to engage senior decision-makers as a peer.
This is a commercial and relationship-focused position. Working closely with Vanguard Tech’s salvage specialists, you will build awareness of our capabilities, develop opportunities, and establish Vanguard Tech as a trusted contact for insurers facing maritime casualties.
Your responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with marine claims managers and senior decision-makers at major insurers.
- Present Vanguard Tech’s salvage and casualty response capabilities to relevant contacts across the London insurance market.
- Identify opportunities where our salvage specialists can support insurers and their clients following a maritime casualty.
- Arrange introductions and discussions between claims managers and Vanguard Tech’s salvage specialists.
- Follow up on market conversations and develop lasting commercial relationships.
- Share market insights to help Vanguard Tech communicate its salvage capabilities effectively and respond to insurers’ priorities.

What we are looking for
- Extensive, hands-on experience handling marine claims, ideally gained with a recognised insurer or other leading market organisation.
- Established relationships with marine claims managers and senior decision-makers at major insurers.
- First-hand knowledge of complex marine casualties and an understanding of the role of salvage in casualty response.
- A strong professional reputation and the credibility to engage London market contacts directly.
- Commercial judgment and the ability to develop opportunities through trusted relationships.
- Clear communication and an interest in growing a specialist salvage business.
