The Role

We are currently hiring for a Marine Claims Manager in our London office to lead and develop our specialist marine claims capability, delivering technical excellence, strong customer outcomes and a consistent, high-quality service across the UK and Europe.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Team leadership: Lead, coach and develop marine claims professionals across the UK and Europe, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration and technical excellence.
  • Technical oversight: Provide direction on complex and high-value marine claims, including coverage, liability, investigation, reserving, settlement and litigation strategy.
  • Operational performance: Manage claims costs, performance indicators and reserving accuracy while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and customer outcomes.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Build trusted relationships with brokers, customers, underwriters and business partners to deliver effective claims solutions and support profitable growth.
  • Governance and strategy: Maintain high claims, regulatory and governance standards while contributing to strategic projects and the continued development of our marine proposition.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Marine claims expertise: Significant experience managing a diverse portfolio of marine claims, with strong knowledge across multiple marine products.
  • Leadership experience: A proven ability to lead and develop claims teams, strengthen capability and improve performance.
  • Complex claims management: Strong technical expertise in handling complex and high-value claims from investigation and reserving through to settlement.
  • Commercial judgement: Sound analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to balance customer, technical and business considerations.
  • Communication and influence: Excellent negotiation and stakeholder-management skills, with the confidence to operate effectively across a complex international matrix.
