Claims Operations Technician
Location: London (Onsite 2-3 days per week)
Contract Type: 6-Month Contract
Rate: £400-500 per day (via Umbrella)
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Claims Operations Technician to support a busy London Market Claims function. This role focuses on delivering operational claims administration services, ensuring the efficient processing of claims-related activities, maintaining strong relationships with brokers, TPAs, and internal stakeholders, and supporting the wider claims team through a range of operational and reporting responsibilities.
This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with extensive London Market claims experience who can work independently, manage multiple priorities, and contribute to process improvements within a complex insurance environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Claims Operations mailbox and coordinate responses to queries and requests.
- Liaise with Claims and Treasury teams to ensure payments are processed accurately and within required deadlines.
- Process manual and sanctioned payments and complete associated documentation.
- Manage relationships with Third Party Administrators (TPAs) and delegated claims partners, resolving operational issues where required.
- Coordinate broker, TPA, and market-related queries and investigate incomplete transactions.
- Process claims bordereaux and maintain accurate records.
- Assist with internal and external audits, providing data and operational support.
- Support offshore claims teams with query resolution, process guidance, and training.
- Produce reports and management information for the Claims function.
- Maintain and update process documentation, ensuring procedures remain accurate and current.
- Identify and drive operational improvements to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Support onboarding administration processes, including new joiner documentation and authority updates.
- Investigate and resolve unallocated cash items.
- Handle sensitive information with a high degree of confidentiality.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory, compliance, and governance requirements.

Essential
- Minimum 5+ years' experience within the London Insurance Market claims environment (10+ years highly desirable).
- Experience with Guidewire ClaimCenter.
- Strong understanding of London Market claims processes and procedures.
- Experience using insurance transactional systems.
- Ability to work independently and proactively resolve issues.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience producing reports and operational management information.
Desirable
- Experience with Genius or IRIS systems.
- Exposure to delegated claims authority environments and Third Party Administrators (TPAs).
- Experience supporting audit and compliance activities.
