Join the RAC as a Claim Specialist Agent and use your vehicle knowledge to help members find the right solution when they need us most.
As a Claim Specialist Agent, you'll be the first point of technical support for members experiencing a breakdown. Using your diagnostic skills, automotive knowledge, and sound judgement, you'll assess issues remotely and decide the best course of action, whether that's resolving the problem over the phone, arranging assistance, or dispatching a patrol.
No two calls are the same. You'll combine technical expertise with great customer service to deliver the right outcome quickly, safely, and efficiently.
What You'll Do
- Assess vehicle issues using diagnostic questioning and customer-provided information.
- Identify the most appropriate solution without physically inspecting the vehicle.
- Support members with remote troubleshooting and self-help guidance where possible.
- Arrange the right level of assistance, including third-party support, patrol attendance, or recovery services.
- Take ownership of cases from first contact through to resolution.
- Maintain accurate records and work within quality and compliance standards.
- Work closely with internal teams and partners to achieve the best member outcome.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
