Claims Adjuster

Location: Leeds, UK

Working Arrangement: Hybrid

Job Type: Full-time

Overview

Our client is seeking a Claims Adjuster to investigate, manage and resolve complex professional indemnity claims. The role involves determining policy coverage, evaluating claims, negotiating settlements, and ensuring cases are managed accurately within agreed service levels and authority limits.

You will work closely with customers, brokers, and internal stakeholders, managing claims estimates, reserves, disputed claims, and other material issues while supporting the delivery of wider claims objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate, manage, and resolve professional indemnity claims efficiently and within agreed timescales.
  • Examine and evaluate claims estimates and paid claim values in line with policy terms and conditions.
  • Determine policy coverage and investigate coverage issues to ensure liabilities remain within contractual commitments.
  • Maintain accurate reserves and manage claims within agreed authority limits and service levels.
  • Evaluate and negotiate claims, including disputed and other material claims, to achieve appropriate settlements.
  • Review estimates and billings submitted by service providers and brokers, resolving discrepancies where required.
  • Respond proactively to correspondence and provide a professional service to brokers and customers.
  • Build effective relationships with customers, brokers, and internal stakeholders while supporting wider claims objectives.

Requirements

  • Proven experience dealing with insurance policy coverage.
  • Current knowledge of relevant compliance, regulatory, and statutory requirements.
  • Strong investigative, analytical, organizational, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to make balanced and impartial judgments.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Effective relationship management skills.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
