The Role
As a Trainee Claims Technician, you will begin your career in insurance claims within a supportive and collaborative team environment.
Working closely with experienced colleagues, you will develop your understanding of claims processes, client service, and insurance operations while providing administrative and technical support to the wider team. This role is designed for someone eager to learn, build new skills, and develop a long-term career within the insurance industry.
What you'll be doing
- Learn how claims are managed and processed throughout their lifecycle.
- Support senior colleagues with day-to-day claims administration activities.
- Assist with the setup and maintenance of claim records on company systems, ensuring information is accurate and up to date.
- Acknowledge new claims and, under supervision, help communicate updates to clients, insurers, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare and organise documentation to support efficient claims handling.
- Process collections, payments, and other claims-related information accurately and in a timely manner.
- Respond to routine queries and escalate more complex matters where appropriate.
- Assist with management reporting and team projects as required.
- Build knowledge of relevant legal, regulatory, and company requirements.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the business to deliver excellent service to clients and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure all activities are completed in line with company policies and procedures.
- Share information and best practice with colleagues to support team success.

Who we're looking for
- Previous experience in an office, administration, customer service, or similar environment.
- An interest in starting a career within the insurance industry. No previous insurance experience is required.
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn new processes and systems.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and other computer-based systems.
- Good problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn from experienced team members.
- Flexible and able to work towards deadlines.
- Committed to providing excellent service and treating clients fairly.

Qualifications
- A-level standard education (or equivalent).
- Good numeracy and literacy skills.
- A willingness to learn and develop a career within insurance claims.
