We are looking for an experienced HGV Class 1 Tanker Driver to join our team, operating one of our client’s state-of-the-art, bespoke bulk water tankers.
You will be responsible for collecting and delivering water to various locations on site using a 30,000-litre bulk water tanker. This is a great opportunity for a professional driver who takes pride in their work, operates safely and is comfortable working on busy construction and infrastructure sites.
You will be representing the company on customer sites, so a professional attitude, good communication skills and a strong commitment to health and safety are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a 30,000-litre bulk water tanker and deliver water to various site locations.
- Carry out a daily vehicle safety check before leaving the yard and report any defects immediately.
- Keep the vehicle clean, tidy and in a safe and serviceable condition.
- Drive safely and courteously, following the Highway Code and all relevant road traffic legislation.
- Follow all applicable tachograph, drivers’ hours, Working Time Directive and GB Domestic rules.
- Complete drivers’ logbooks and tachograph requirements accurately.
- Follow all company Risk Assessments, Method Statements, policies and health and safety procedures.
- Follow site-specific rules and instructions when working on customer sites.
- Operate the tanker safely and appropriately for the volume being carried, including ensuring all valves are correctly closed before travelling.
- Follow all tanker-specific training and procedures.
- Carry hazardous loads in accordance with company instructions, where applicable, including displaying the correct signage and carrying the required documentation.
- Report all accidents, near misses, damage and vehicle defects immediately.
- Use the vehicle’s 360-degree camera system and follow safe reversing procedures.
- Use the company tablet to update BigChange, our job management system.
- Wear the required PPE and safety footwear at all times.
- Maintain a professional attitude when dealing with customers, site personnel and members of the public.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
