This is a full-time, on-site Class 1 Driver role based in the United Kingdom. The Class 1 Driver will be responsible for safely operating articulated vehicles, carrying out scheduled deliveries and collections of palletised and general freight, and ensuring timely and accurate transport of goods to and from customer locations, depots, and warehouses.
Daily tasks include:
- Completing vehicle checks
- Adhering to road traffic and company safety regulations
- Securing and checking loads
- Accurately maintaining delivery documentation and records
The driver will work closely with the transport office, warehouse teams, and customers, following assigned routes, reporting any incidents or delays, and upholding WT Transport’s standards of professional conduct and customer service.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess a valid Category C+E (Class 1) driving licence and a current Driver CPC qualification.
- Candidates should possess experience in operating articulated vehicles, performing vehicle safety checks, and handling a variety of loads and trailers.
- Candidates should possess strong knowledge of UK road traffic laws, tachograph regulations, and health and safety practices in haulage and warehousing environments.
- Candidates should possess good communication skills, the ability to follow instructions and route plans, and a customer-focused approach when representing the company.
- Candidates should possess a reliable and professional work ethic, with the ability to manage time effectively and work flexibly to meet operational requirements.
- Experience in pallet network operations or similar logistics environments, and familiarity with FORS or CLOCS standards, would be beneficial.
- A good level of physical fitness to safely handle loading and unloading tasks, and basic numeracy and literacy skills for completing paperwork and records, is required.
