Class 1 Driver
Location: West Thurrock
Shifts: Monday to Friday, start times from 05:00
Pay Rate: £18 per hour
We are currently recruiting reliable and professional HGV Class 1 Day Drivers to join our team, delivering packaged timber to Jewson branches across London, Brighton, Worthing, the Southeast, and the South Coast.
This is an excellent opportunity for drivers looking for regular weekday work with minimal physical duties.
As a Day Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of packaged timber to customer sites. All products are unloaded by forklift, meaning there is no manual handling involved.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out daily vehicle and load safety checks.
- Checking load straps before starting each shift.
- Safely unstrapping and restrapping the load at each delivery.
- Ensuring load security by checking straps at every delivery point.
- Delivering safely and professionally while providing excellent customer service.

Requirements
- Hold a valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence.
- Be 21 years of age or older.
- Have no more than 6 penalty points on your licence.
- Have no drink-driving, drug-driving, or insurance-related driving convictions.
- Be willing to complete the company's assessment and onboarding process.
- Wear the required PPE, including safety boots and a high-visibility vest.
