About The Role
Rapier Employment is recruiting a Class 1 driver for a retail logistics operation in Hatfield, offering full-time, guaranteed shifts until December or January with immediate starts. Pay Rates
Standard Hours
- £20.44 per hour (04:00 – 13:00)
- £21.76 per hour (13:00 – 04:00)
Overtime (After 8 Hours)
- £30.65 per hour (04:00 – 13:00)
- £32.65 per hour (13:00 – 04:00)
The Role
As an HGV Class 1 or 2 Driver, you'll deliver retail goods from the distribution centre to stores across North London, Essex, and Kent. Routes are well planned and consist primarily of palletised loads, with minimal manual handling required.
Depending on operational requirements, you may occasionally be asked to complete a second run.
Your Responsibilities
- Completing store deliveries safely and efficiently
- Transporting predominantly palletised loads with minimal manual handling
- Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks and reporting defects
- Ensuring deliveries are completed accurately and on schedule
- Completing all transport paperwork and maintaining legal compliance
- Providing a professional and friendly service at every delivery point
Average shift lengths are 8–12 hours, with consistent start times and ongoing work available throughout the peak period.

What We're Looking For
To be considered for this role, you'll need:
- A valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) or Class 2 (C) licence
- Valid Driver CPC qualification
- Digital Tachograph Card
- No more than 6 penalty points (no major endorsements)
- A good understanding of Drivers' Hours, the Working Time Directive, and transport legislation
- A professional, reliable, and customer-focused approach
