Class 2 ADR Tanker Driver

Role Overview

The ADR Driver is required to operate any Company vehicle for which they are suitably qualified to undertake. As the duties of this post constitute those of a professional driver, all operation of Company vehicles must be undertaken in a safe manner and fully compliant with all relevant law and legislation. In addition, the ADR Driver will undertake duties associated with that of an operator.


Responsibilities

  • Operating Company vehicles including HGV & ADR class vehicles or any other vehicle for which the ADR Driver is suitably qualified to operate and full responsibility for ensuring all vehicle checks are undertaken prior to commencing any works.
  • Ensure all uplifting and offloading of product and materials are undertaken in the correct and compliant manner with high regard for health and safety and correct working practices and ensuring correct PPE worn for each task.
  • Liaison with customers on site in an approachable and professional manner. Discuss ongoing works and further services of the Company where required.
  • Compliance with tachograph regulations and reporting in the required manner.
  • Reporting any vehicle defects to supervision as soon as identified. The postholder will be required to complete vehicle defect report in such circumstances.
  • Completion of all works paperwork and submission in a timely manner to divisional supervision.
  • Ensuring all ADR vehicles display appropriate placards during transportation and any time stationary. The postholder holds full responsibility for ensuring they are in possession of the correct written instruction document referring to the materials being transported.
  • Liaison with management and working closely with the broader team, ensuring communication of workload updates / changes are relayed on to ensure best service is provided.
  • Undertake any required training.
  • Any other duties for which the ADR Driver is qualified for and capable of undertaking.

Qualifications

  • Must possess relevant licence categories to operate and control HGV/ADR including tanks, minimum class 2 licence.
  • Previous knowledge and experience of working with dangerous goods is an advantage.
  • Good problem-solving skills / attitude.
  • Knowledge of tachograph regulations.
  • Can-do attitude with a willingness to undertake tasks last minute and prepared to stay out overnight when the need is required.
  • Willingness to undertake any additional training to increase capability of the division in supplying a service to customers.
