Location: Manchester

Salary: A GBP 36,621 - A GBP 38,961

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, rotating weekly between 15:00-01:00 and 19:00-05:00

Position: Permanent, Full Time

Start Date: ASAP


About the Role

Our client, a leading international logistics provider, is looking for a reliable and experienced Class 2 Airside Trunk Driver to join its night operation in Manchester.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful and well-established logistics company providing specialist aerospace, airside and time-critical transport services throughout the UK and internationally.

The successful candidate will begin on the starting salary of A GBP 36,621. The salary will increase to the middle of the advertised range once the required airside pass has been obtained, progressing to A GBP 38,961 following the successful completion of all necessary training.


What you'll do

As Class 2 Airside Trunk Driver, you will be responsible for the safe, secure and timely transportation of goods while ensuring full compliance with aviation security procedures.

Alongside driving duties, the position will involve loading and securing freight, assisting with warehouse activities, screening cargo and supporting the planning and despatch of loads.


Key Responsibilities

  • Complete scheduled trunking and airside driving duties safely and efficiently
  • Ensure full compliance with aviation security procedures for all deliveries and collections
  • Load, unload and secure freight safely within company vehicles
  • Screen items to Cabin Baggage or Known Cargo security standards
  • Complete vehicle checks and report any faults or safety concerns
  • Manage routes and timings to ensure all scheduled work is completed
  • Communicate effectively with the transport and operations teams
  • Assist with warehouse duties when required
  • Plan and despatch loads using the company’s Transport Management System
  • Support other drivers requiring assistance while completing their duties
  • Maintain accurate transport, security and delivery documentation
  • Follow all company, airside, health and safety and security procedures

What You Need

  • A valid UK Class 2 HGV driving licence
  • A minimum of three years professional driving experience
  • Airside driving experience would be advantageous but is not essential
  • Fewer than six penalty points on their driving licence
  • A five-year checkable employment history, with no unexplained gaps exceeding 28 consecutive days
  • The right to work in the UK
  • No disqualifying convictions that would prevent airside clearance
  • Good time-management and route-planning skills
  • A reliable, flexible and safety-conscious approach
  • The ability to complete warehouse and manual-handling duties
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

Salary Progression

  • Starting salary: A GBP 36,621
  • Salary progression following successful airside pass approval
  • Further increase to A GBP 38,961 following completion of all required training

Working Hours

The role operates Monday to Friday on a weekly rotating shift pattern:

  • 15:00-01:00
  • 19:00-05:00

Applicants must be able to work both shifts as part of the weekly rotation.
