Pay Rate: £15.36 per hour
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:30 am – 2:30 pm

Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Refuse Driver (Driver Level 3) to join a busy waste and recycling team in Wareham.
The role involves driving a Category C (Class 2) refuse collection vehicle and supporting the collection of household, commercial and recyclable waste across the local area.
You will work as part of a crew to provide an essential waste collection service, ensuring that all work is carried out safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate refuse collection vehicles in accordance with road safety requirements and relevant regulations.
- Complete routine vehicle checks and ensure the vehicle is clean, safe and roadworthy.
- Drive designated routes to collect domestic, commercial and recyclable waste.
- Work effectively as part of a refuse collection crew.
- Communicate clearly with colleagues, supervisors and other relevant personnel.
- Ensure collection routes are completed efficiently and within the required timescales.
- Report missed collections, blocked access, vehicle faults and any other issues to the appropriate supervisor.
- Follow all relevant health and safety procedures and operational guidelines.
- Maintain a professional and courteous approach when dealing with members of the public.

Essential Requirements

- Full Category C (Class 2) Driving Licence.
- Valid Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
- Previous experience driving Category C vehicles is desirable.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good understanding of road safety and vehicle safety procedures.
- Reliable, punctual and physically capable of working in an active outdoor environment.
