Role Description

This full-time Class 2 Driver role is based on-site in Glasgow City. The driver will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery and collection of equipment using Class 2 vehicles, ensuring all loads are secured and handled in line with company and legal requirements.

  • Performing vehicle checks
  • Completing delivery documentation
  • Following planned routes
  • Communicating with the transport team regarding schedules or any issues on the road

The role also involves:

  • Interacting with customers at delivery and collection points
  • Providing courteous service
  • Representing the company professionally at all times

Occasional assistance with loading/unloading and maintaining cleanliness and basic upkeep of the vehicle may be required.

Qualifications

  • Strong truck driving skills with proven experience operating Class 2 vehicles and safe handling of trucks.
  • Valid CDL Class A or equivalent UK HGV/ LGV license appropriate for Class 2 driving, with a clean driving record.
  • Effective communication skills for coordinating with dispatch, colleagues, and customers, including clear reporting of issues.
  • Demonstrated customer service abilities, with a professional and helpful approach at delivery and collection sites.
  • Good knowledge of road safety regulations and local routes in and around Glasgow City.
  • Ability to complete basic vehicle inspections, report defects, and maintain accurate delivery documentation.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work full-time hours with occasional flexibility for peak periods.
  • Previous experience in equipment hire, logistics, or transportation is an advantage.
