Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Class 2 Driver role based in Irvine. The Class 2 Driver will be responsible for safely operating Class 2 vehicles to transport waste, recycling materials, and other loads in line with company procedures and legal requirements. Day-to-day tasks include:

The role involves working closely with dispatch and operations teams, interacting professionally with clients on site, and adhering to all health and safety, environmental, and road traffic regulations. The driver will also support general site operations as required, including assisting with loading and unloading, and reporting any vehicle or route issues promptly.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class 2 (Category C) HGV licence and Driver CPC qualification, with a good driving record.
  • Experience in waste management, recycling, haulage, or similar transport operations, including safe loading and unloading practices.
  • Strong awareness of health and safety, road traffic regulations, and compliance requirements relevant to commercial driving.
  • Ability to follow route plans, complete delivery and collection documentation accurately, and communicate clearly with operations and clients.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy operational environment.
  • Basic vehicle inspection and defect reporting skills to ensure vehicles are maintained in a safe, roadworthy condition.
  • Good local area knowledge around Irvine and wider Scotland is beneficial.
  • Previous Class 2 driving experience and experience handling waste or industrial materials are advantageous.
