Role Description

The Class 2 Driver role at DVB HIRE is a full-time hybrid position based in Woodborough, with some work-from-home tasks such as scheduling, paperwork, and communication handled remotely. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Safely operating Class 2 trucks to deliver and collect plant and tools.
  • Conducting pre- and post-trip vehicle checks.
  • Ensuring loads are secured and handled in line with safety regulations.
  • Liaising with the depot team to plan routes, meet delivery times, and support efficient fleet utilization.
  • Interacting with customers on-site, providing professional handovers of equipment.
  • Completing basic documentation and records accurately.

Qualifications

  • Strong truck driving skills, including safe operation of Class 2 vehicles and adherence to road safety regulations.
  • Valid CDL Class A or equivalent professional driving license and a clean driving record.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills for interacting with clients and internal teams.
  • Experience handling trucks in construction or plant hire environments, including loading and unloading equipment.
  • Good knowledge of local routes and basic route planning; ability to use digital tools for navigation and job updates.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hybrid work setting.
  • Basic understanding of health and safety practices related to plant and tool handling.
  • Right to work in the UK; previous experience as a Class 2 or commercial driver is an advantage.
