Class 2 Driver
Are you an experienced Class 2 driver looking to join a company with real heritage, a great team culture, and varied, interesting work? We want to hear from you!
About Us
Based in Silverstone, Northamptonshire, just a stone's throw from the legendary F1 Circuit, Linnell Brothers is one of the UK's longest-established and most trusted timber merchants. With over 145 years of experience supplying quality timber products, we are a business built on expertise, reliability, and pride in what we do.
The Role
We're looking for a reliable, hands-on Class 2 driver to become a valued member of our busy team. This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary. No two days are exactly alike here, and we're after someone who thrives on variety and is always happy to turn their hand to whatever the day brings. You'll be operating as part of our modern and well-maintained fleet, which includes three 7.5-tonne vehicles and four 26-tonne vehicles equipped with crane offload capability. Multi-drop experience is preferred, though not essential.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
