Kernow Learning is a multi-academy trust of 21 primary schools in Cornwall. Our English Hub supports schools across Cornwall to secure children's early reading, whilst our Teaching School Hub, as a partner in OneCornwall, provides services to schools across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly in areas such as the Early Career Framework and National Professional Qualifications.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Class Teacher to join our team at Mabe Community Primary School. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's learning and development within a caring and ambitious school community. The successful candidate will inspire confidence, curiosity and a love of learning, while creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child is supported to thrive and achieve their potential.
This is a permanent part-time position, working Thursdays and Fridays each week. We are looking for a candidate who can make a long-term commitment to these working days and become an integral part of our school community.
The successful candidate will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Inspire children to develop confidence, curiosity and a love of learning.
- Have high expectations for all pupils and a commitment to helping every child achieve their potential.
- Deliver engaging, high-quality teaching that supports strong progress and positive outcomes.
- Create an inclusive and stimulating classroom environment where children feel safe, valued and supported.
- Build positive and professional relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
- Work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team and contribute to the wider life of the school.
- Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
- Share our commitment to safeguarding, promoting the welfare of children and supporting their wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality learning experiences that engage, challenge and support all pupils.
- Assess, monitor and record pupil progress, using assessment information to inform teaching and learning.
- Create a positive learning environment that promotes high standards of achievement, behaviour and inclusion.
- Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including pupils with SEND and those requiring additional challenge.
- Build positive partnerships with parents, carers and colleagues to support pupil achievement and wellbeing.
- Contribute to curriculum development and the wider life of the school.
- Participate fully in professional development, school events and team collaboration.
- Uphold the school's values and fulfil the professional duties set out in the Teachers' Standards.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of all children and young people.
